Nigel's Gear

Over the years I've had various keyboards, my earlist was a single manual philicordia organ that I painted white!  This was swiftly followed by a Vox Continental two manual organ complete with a home made rotary speaker cabinet.  The cabinet was huge but in this version instead of the speakers spinning round there was a single speaker pointing upwards over which a large paddle rotated!  It actually made quite a good sound.  Other keyboards that have passed through my hands was a Fender Rhodes 88, a Korg MS10 and a Yamaha DX7.  I've still got the DX7 and for a long while that was my only instrument.

These days I've added an Alesis QS8, a Roland XP30 and a Nord Electro 2 73.  I have a love/hate relationship with my QS8 as it has great sounds but can be rather temperamental and has had several visits to the keyboard doctor.  Because I like my QS8 I have picked up a QS7 as well.  It's exactly the same but without the weighted keyboard so easier to carry around and hopefully no need to go to the keyboard doctor.  The XP30 is fully loaded with as many expansion boards as it can take!  I run all this lot through a Behringer Ultratone mixer combo.
